Whistler Sled Dogs Laid to Rest
As you may know, two years ago, during the 2010 Winter Olympics that took place where I live (Vancouver), there was a disturbing case in which a large number of sled dogs were purchased by the Outdoor Adventures Whistler (a sled-dog tour operator), in anticipation of increased tourist business. When the Olympics were over, the company realized they had no use for, nor can they afford to keep up the welfare of so many animals, and they purportedly ordered an employee by the name of Bob Fawcett to "get rid of them". 56 perfectly healthy sled dogs were slaughtered as a result of this, and I believe Fawcett himself described the killings in grues
